Production Line MES Implementation
Technocast is an industry leader in small household appliances. The company serves domestic and international brands as an OEM/ODM supplier. With its competent product development, R&D and production teams, it brings its customers’ projects to life. Technocast operates in a total indoor area of 15,000 m² at 2 different locations in Çerkezköy OSB.
Founded in 2002, Technocast invested in plastic injection in 2010 and moved to its facilities in Çerkezköy/Tekirdağ, where it still operates. Serving the white goods and small household appliance sectors as an OEM/ODM supplier, Technocast focused on R&D and production in small household appliances with the establishment of its R&D Center in 2017.
One of the pioneering companies in its industry, Technocast chose our E-Life EPC-410 model as the industrial Panel PC for the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) it implemented as part of the digital transformation of its production lines. Detailed information about the application provided by Technocast project officials is below: “Before using the E-Life EPC-410 Panel PCs together with the MES system on our production lines, we had no digital data collection infrastructure. All data was written manually on paper and data entry was done from a central location.”
“We purchased the E-Life EPC-410 Panel PCs to use in our Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Thanks to this system, the data we collect with PLC sensors connected to the Panel PCs began to be reported instantly by operators at the machine.”
“The main reasons we chose the E-Life EPC-410 Panel PC for our project were that it is a locally made product, its price advantage over alternatives, the proximity of technical service to our location, and the product’s metal chassis and screen durability. Offering all these features together, the E-Life EPC-410 was among our top choices as it met all our needs for the hardware to be used in the project.”
“The new application meets our measurable expectations and goals in terms of efficiency and improvement. Specifically, with the transition to the MES system and data entry on the E-Life EPC-410 Panel PCs we use on each production machine, daily production forms were first moved from paper to digital, eliminating paper use in operations. Downtime, defect and good-product reports can now be obtained instantly from the production line. By sending the production plans they prepare on the ERP and MES systems directly to the screen of the EPC-410 Panel PC used by the operator instead of printing them, the planning team achieved an effective two-way data flow. Time is saved as the planning team monitors from the management panel when each machine started, how many products were produced, and downtime and defect entries. Through the same system, quality teams also carry out operational inspections digitally, saving both paper and time.”
